A meteorite smashed through the roof of a home in New Jersey on Tuesday.
It hit a free‑standing garage, created a small hole and sprinkled debris inside.
No one was injured.
The rock contained rare fragments from the primordial solar system and traces of chemicals not present on Earth.
Scientists report its make‑up looks unlike normal Earth rocks.
NASA and other space agencies have begun to study the pieces to discover where they came from.
