Driver Sammy Smith recently announced his decision to leave JR Motorsports at the end of the season. Smith will not return to Dale Jr.'s NASCAR team for 2027. The choice brings an end to a three-year run with the motorsports crew.
While sharing the news, Smith noted that the job isn't finished yet as he navigates the final stretch of the current season. He will dedicate the rest of the year finishing out his final schedule with JR Motorsports before formally ending his three-year tenure with Dale Jr.'s team.
