The Department for Work and Pensions has announced it will scrap two legacy benefits as the Universal Credit rollout brings in two million additional claimants. A number of recipients will see no payment losses during the phase-out.
The DWP has also revised Personal Independence Payment assessments. In addition, expanded bank monitoring powers will affect pensioners and claimants. The department is working to resolve historical errors that may entitle older women to State Pension back payments.
