Members of Parliament have advocated reforming the BBC's licence fee. They suggest lowering costs and expanding funding to include areas outside of television. MPs also propose scrapping the BBC's charter process and stopping the broadcaster from undercutting commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to resolve the BBC's financial challenges as it faces a key turning point. The recommendations come amid persistent talks about the broadcaster's next steps.
