A trailer for "The Exorcist: Martyrs" surfaced Friday at New York Comic Con, with Scarlett Johansson taking on a role tracking a demonic killer. The film is directed by Mike Flanagan and acts as both a sequel and a reboot of the long-running horror franchise.

Flanagan says the project draws heavily on "The Exorcist III" and describes it as the scariest thing he has ever made. He told reporters the film was meant to be genuinely threatening and that it made him noticeably unsettled during production.
