A majority of members in the Australian Education Union’s Victoria branch voted against the state’s recent wage proposal, prompting public school teachers to walk out.

The AEU announced the withdrawal of labor following the tally that indicated 51 percent rejected the revised offer.

Strike action is confirmed and scheduled to move forward with no new negotiations scheduled at present.
