The Rugby Football Union intends to offer England head coach Steve Borthwick a contract extension. The planned agreement would retain him as head coach beyond the 2027 Rugby World Cup and past the 2028 Six Nations.
Borthwick would remain in charge of England at both competitions under the planned deal. His tenure as head coach would carry on after the next men's Rugby World Cup, before continuing through England's Six Nations campaign in the year that followed.
The new contract would keep him in the role after the 2028 tournament had ended.
