SpaceX filed a filing to the FCC. It wants approval to launch up to 100,000 next-gen Starlink satellites. The plan promises high-speed internet and AI networking for Earth-based customers. The firm already runs a large fleet in low Earth orbit.
Analysts doubt Starlink can challenge with U.S. carriers like Verizon or T-Mobile. Some think it may hurt cable broadband more than mobile phone services. Craig Moffett from MoffettNathanson called the idea unconvincing against wireless rivals.
