Kazuma Okamoto has set a Toronto Blue Jays record. He went down on strikes for the 171st time this season on Friday. That surpasses every single-season strikeout total ever recorded by the club. The game came in Toronto against the Baltimore Orioles on September 11. It was hardly the mark he wanted. Okamoto hit his 31st home run that evening. Strikeouts are hardly a selling point for any hitter. Sportsnet and Yahoo Sports noted the feat. The Blue Jays welcomed the Orioles in that contest.
