A plane from Air Canada slid off the taxiway at Montreal-Trudeau Airport on July 10. It hit the ground, and then moved onto the grass and came to rest beside the runway. Officials closed the strip right away. No one got hurt during the incident, even though it felt rough.
That block halted takeoffs and landings for hours. Cleanup crews brought equipment to the area. Others examined the runway for damage. By afternoon, aircraft were back in the air when the strip reopened.
