The Minnesota Lynx topped the Golden State Valkyries twice in late August. Minnesota earned a win of 77-66 on Aug. 19. The teams faced off again Aug. 24 at Target Center. Minnesota held the top seed. They remained unbeaten against Golden State yet. Courtney Williams sat out. Her right foot was hurt. Without Williams on the floor, Minnesota failed to clinch the top seed in that game.
