Josh Worrell, Adelaide Crows forward, who is a promising player, was in a serious crash that happened Friday before training session for the scheduled Gold Coast match.
The accident hurt a involved pedestrian, who police then took to the hospital.
Worrell was not detained at the scene of the incident.
Teammates told reporters in the media room Worrell seemed distressed after the crash.
Police now investigate the incident as described, and have released a statement to the press.
The club has said they will review if Worrell can play on the field against Gold Coast, pending fitness assessment, if cleared, and will evaluate the decision shortly.
