Jacob Coxon, the alignment lead at Anthropic, has stepped down. He issued a warning that artificial intelligence poses serious risks.
Coxon said there is more than a 10 percent chance that AI could cause all humans to die by the next decade. He characterised ongoing AI development as a gamble involving human lives.
Coxon described the technology beyond control. His departure has attracted notice. The resignation follows his warnings about serious AI risks.
