An amateur skygazer using Google Maps came across a wide circular hollow in northern Quebec. Experts at Quebec’s geological survey authenticated it is a massive meteorite impact crater formed around 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The ground formation mirrors other confirmed craters and indicates a cataclysmic long-ago blow. Satellite images were mapped against field data to confirm the result.
