A cold front is tracking up Australia's east coast. It is carrying dangerous storms to southeast Queensland, including the Gold Coast, on October 5, 2026. Large hail, strong winds, and thunderstorms are all expected.

The front is advancing fast, and conditions could worsen before midday. Residents across the Gold Coast and surrounding suburbs are being urged to prepare ahead of time.

Australian news outlets called the conditions severe. Large hail can damage vehicles and rooftops, and gusty winds pose a risk to trees and infrastructure. Residents should monitor official weather updates and take steps to stay safe before the storms move through.
