FDNY fire marshals are currently investigating a possible blaze that needed three alarms. It burned through a blocks-long scrap yard in Staten Island. The site was at Rector Street and Castleton Avenue. Dramatic clips were shared online, capturing flames and smoke climbing high above the site.
In a separate event, a fire occurred at an auto body repair shop in Staten Island. Fire marshals have not said whether these two incidents are connected. No additional details have been provided at this time.
