Ed Harris complained early on about his limited part in the spin-off in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was meaningless and demanded to quit. Harris told Variety, 'with frustration Get me the f- out of here' as he threw his hands up. He later decided to return for Season 2 to rejoin for the sequel. The show’s boss tweaked the story and gave his character additional depth. That change prompted Harris choose to stay. Deadline now says he will return to the role.
