He took the field his long‑time idol Cristiano Ronaldo.
Together they kept a clean sheet and secured for Portugal three points.
Dalot’s father told reporters his son has idolised Ronaldo since childhood and that the two now enjoy a true camaraderie.
He said the admiration has driven Dalot’s career and that playing together at a World Cup is a dream come true.
