CenterPoint Energy acknowledged that personal data of customers was exposed in a data breach. Class action lawsuits have been filed after the breach. The company stated services are still running and that personal customer data was obtained.

In a separate matter, the FBI told Springfield officials that a cyber attack on a school amounted to a data breach that could have revealed Social Security numbers. Records of students and staff were compromised in the Springfield Public Schools incident, the FBI said. The FBI gave the warning to local officials.
