The New Jersey Devils have tendered a one-year offer sheet worth $4.775 million to Barrett Hayton, a centre with the Utah Mammoth. The proposal comes as Hayton is a contract-bound free agent under Utah’s control.
Under NHL rules, Utah has seven days to match the offer. If the franchise matches, Hayton remains in Utah under the identical conditions. If it declines , the Devils secure his rights and he will move to the New Jersey roster for the next season.
